A tried and true rule for updos is to have " day-old " hair. This gives the Stylist a great base to work with for lasting style. This rule is especially great for someone with very silky hair, as it gives it a bit of texture to hold curls better. If the thought of having " dirty hair " makes you cringe, our Stylists carry " dry shampoos " with them. These will make your hair look and smell clean, while giving us the texture we need to make your hair stay put all day!
Sometimes a special circumstance makes it absolutely necessary for you to shampoo your hair on your big day, the most important step you can do before your Stylist arrives is: DRY it - sans product. This simple step allows the Stylist to spend time on perfecting the details of your final look instead of blow drying. Good luck!
P.S. Day-old hair really means day old - hair that hasn't been shampooed in a week can get too greasy for this trick to work. Consult your Smart & Chic Stylist for expert recommendations.
