S&C Bride, " Tessa Wetjen" was a joy to work with. Her pleasant nature is infectious, and her calm, cool manner at her wedding was awesome. It came as no surprise when I found that she was something of a wedding pro - Tessa let me know that she had been officiating weddings since 2005! I had to get the word out about this lovely lady!
Tessa started officiating weddings after she finished a Master's of Divinity. Her brother asked if she would do his wedding, and one soon became many. Tessa says, " The best part is getting to know people at a really exciting time in their lives, and getting to help them, and their community honor the choice they are making."
Tessa: I love doing weddings in any setting. I'm really interested in getting to know people, and understanding the tone they are wanting for their wedding. I was trained as a Christian pastor, so I do like to incorporate faith into the ceremony.
My advice is to have really good conversations about what marriage means for you both, way before you get engaged. When planning a wedding, the more work early on, the less freaking out later. Be really reasonable about what matters to you and what doesn't, what's worth money and what isn't.
While doing hair and makeup at Tessa's wedding, I got to meet newer Twin Cities Photgrapher, "Tracey Dwight" (featured blog post coming soon) Tessa and Tracey were a great team - Tessa kept the vibe going while Tracey captured special moments without anyone realizing she was there!
