Choosing a Hairstyle For Your Wedding Day

The trial run is the ideal time to go over any and all ideas you have for your wedding day hairstyle with you Smart & Chic stylist. It is helpful to come prepared with a few preferences you have or photos of what you like before we go to work with your tresses. Here are some tips when considering what to do with your ‘do:

Romantic waves, half-up, sleek updo - which is best for you and your gown? Consider what the neckline of your dress looks like. Your hairstyle should complement both your face and your gown. If you have a decorative or beaded décolletage, keep your hair up to show off the details. If you have simple straps, leave your hair down to add a playful yet elegant cascading look. We can even do both – a loose updo with delicate, flowing bangs can be the perfect combination of styles.

And speaking of bangs - wispy, side-sweeping, all pulled back – there are many options for framing your face. Ask your stylist to suggest what would look best on you. Then you can continue growing your bangs, or the stylist can suggest when to get them cut before your wedding day.

A few extensions to pump up the volume could do wonders for someone with thin hair. Or add a few more inches to your length by having us place a few lines of extensions at the middle and bottom of your head/hairline. This can create a more romantic ‘Rapunzel’ look if wearing your hair down.
